Riesling Langenloiser Urgestein 2022
Every place where wine is grown is unique in terms of location, geology, and wine culture. Our village wine (Ortswein) tradition is centuries old and the wines reflect this geological, microclimatic and cultural spectrum. The historic town of Langenlois is not only the center of the Kamptal region but also our home. Our Riesling vines grow on the terraced slopes northwest of the town, an area completely formed of metamorphic and crystalline rock soils, predominantly consisting of gneiss, amphibolite, granite, mica schist, and quartz. This elegant Riesling, bottled after 6 months of lees aging, is characterized by fine stone fruit and juicy-salty minerality. It unmistakably reflects its origin and the palate of the people living here.

The grapes were selectively harvested by hand during mid-October. Destemmed, slightly crushed and macerated for several hours. Gently pressed with low pressure. Fermented in stainless-steel and matured on the lees for several months. Bottled at high atmospheric pressure during the waxing moon in April 2023.
