Grüner Veltliner “Gipfelwein” 2019

Alpine joie de vivre in every bottle. Together with the three friends and Gipfelwein initiators Michael Moll, Andreas Mirgeler and Marc Hillen, we created a small batch of this very special Grüner Veltliner. This exclusive composition was blended by Ludwig & Dietmar Hiedler with Jutta & Marc Hillen in Langenlois.

The grapes are selectively harvested by hand in various parts. They are slightly crushed and macerated for some hours before we gently press them off with low pressure. Fermented in stainless-steel tanks and traditional acacia casks. Matured for several months on the lees. Bottled at high atmospheric pressure during the waxing moon in April 2022.
Wine description
Mineral nose, yellow fruits, pear, quince jelly, green pepper, delicately smoky nuances; dark fruit on the palate, wonderfully creamy, coupled with ripe acidity, pear, rosehip, elegant, compact body, dense and long finish.
