Every wine producing village is unique in terms of location, geology and wine culture. An Ortswein (Village Wine) reflects this geological, microclimatic and cultural spectrum. Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) has a long tradition in our family. Dr. Bruno Hiedler was the first winemaker to cultivate the variety in the Danube area in 1955. It was a time when small, low yielding varieties were anything but 'en vogue'. Since then, Weissburgunder is deeply rooted in our soil and our history. This balanced and elegant Weißburgunder of old vine-genetics, grows on calcareous loess and gravel soils around the historic town of Langenlois. They characterize its calm fruit and delicious nutty-nes.

The grapes were selectively harvested by hand in mid-Ocotber and slightly crushed. After some hours of maceration they were gently pressed off with low pressure. Fermented in stainless steel tank and acacia cask and matured for several months on the lees. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Bottled at high atmospheric pressure during the waxing moon in April 2022.
Beautiful scent of figs and roasted almonds, linden blossom, a bit of mandarine, pear coming through from the background; smooth texture, juicy and delicately fruity, rich in extract, elegant, orange cake, again pear, a nuty aroma remains on the palate, long finish.
