Riesling Langenloiser Urgestein 2023
Every wine-growing village is unique due to its geography, geology, and wine culture. Our village wine (Ortswein) tradition is centuries old and the wines reflect this geological, microclimatic and cultural spectrum. This wine comes from the historic sites of Langenlois, the center of the Kamptal region and our home. Our Riesling vines grow on the terraced slopes northwest of the village, on crystalline and metamorphic rock soils (Urgestein), predominantly gneiss, amphibolite, granite, mica schist, and quartz. This elegant Riesling, bottled after six months on the lees, is characterized by a delicate stone fruit aroma and a juicy and salty minerality. It unmistakably reflects its origin and the palates of the people who live here.

Vinification
The grapes were selectively harvested by hand in early October. Destemmed, slightly crushed and macerated for several hours. Gently pressed with low pressure. Fermented in stainless-steel and matured on the lees for 6 months. Bottled at high atmospheric pressure during the waxing moon in April 2024. 100% artisanal.
