The grapes for this Veltliner are sourced from the highest elevated terraces of the Schenkenbichl
vineyard, cultivated at an altitude of approximately 315 meters above sea level. In this location, our 60-year-old vines have formed a deep root system in the brittle, metamorphic rock soil, remnants from an ancient mountain range. The soil is primarily composed of dark amphibolite, which extends to the surface. The influence of this rocky soil is evident in the wines, which exhibit a cool and elegant character, accompanied by subtle fruit and a smoky salinity.
