Grüner Veltliner Langenloiser Tonmineral 2022
Every place where wine is grown is unique in terms of location, geology, and wine culture. Our village wine (Ortswein) tradition is centuries old and the wines reflect this geological, microclimatic and cultural spectrum. The historic town of Langenlois is not only the center of the Kamptal region but also our home. Here, the Grüner Veltliner grapes mainly grow on loess and clay soils composed of varying combinations of clay minerals, limestone, dolomite, feldspar, quartz, and mica. They stretch from the southeast of the town to the high plateau in the west. This elegant Veltliner, bottled after six months of lees aging, is characterized by pithy fruit and spicy minerality. It unmistakably reflects its origin and the palate of the people living here.

The grapes were selectively harvested by hand in various parts from end of September till mid October. Destemmed, slightly crushed and macerated for several hours. Gently pressed with low pressure. Fermented in stainless-steel and matured on the lees for several months. Bottled at high atmospheric pressure during the waxing moon in March 2023.
Citrusy nose, pink grapefruit, ripe blood orange, some yellow fruit, fennel, meadow herbs, distinct mineral notes; on the palate harmonious and delicately fruity, ripe acidity, gentle grip, juicy and extremely quaffable. A great allrounder as food companion!
